Cat Caper
This really made me laugh. I’ve been wondering where Pogo sleeps in the afternoon. He hasn’t been in his basket, and I haven’t seen him on the living room chair. Then yesterday I bent down to straighten out the dog bed by the fireplace, and found that it suddenly weighed a ton. Pogo had gotten inside it! The bed isn’t sewn together; I fastened it with Velcro. Somehow he opened it up and got in. Such an enterprising cat!
Just now when I went into the living room to turn on the light, I saw the dog bed moving. I’m glad I already knew why.

But is Pogo smarter than the Caledonian crows that Mali recently posted about?
My Heaven's that sounds cozy. I wonder where I can find a really big dog bed. Since my dog sleeps on mine, it seems only fair.
Yes, always good to know the source of an inanimate object's moving.
Adam, really big dog beds exist.
Hi guys - It just occurred to me that this might not be the safest place for Pogo to hang out, given the size of my two dogs and the fact that they're not given to being cautious when lying down on their beds.
Pogo can probably hold his own. My parents' cat, Opal (she's a black cat, too), likes to sleep on their dog's bed, in his kennel. She always manages to get out of the way-- or bully the dog into leaving.
It's like a cat sleeping bag :) Kermit keeps changing the place she sleeps about every few months. One day I'll wake up and can't find her at first, until I search the house. The latest place is underneath one of the cat furnitures.
