Grey Cat on Grey Rocks

She's feral, and I can't get near her. But she's lived in our barn and on our property for years. And she always lets me know when her food is late.

Hi Susan :-)

She looks a lot like Kermit.

Hi Crystal! I'll tell her that, but I'll bet all she does is glare at me. And maybe meow. :-)

Beautiful photo.

Isn't it strange how some cats never learn to trust? And how others just move in without bothering to check with you first?

Hi Guys! Thanks, IB. And that's true, Helen. Of course, this one did both. With her mother, actually. I could pet the mother... if all conditions were right, including a bowl of food in front of her. But never the daughter. The mother probably died a year or so ago. She just disappeared. Sad, but she was getting frail. She got the bad end of a fight several years ago, and I managed to treat her by giving them canned food every day (a treat!) and putting antibiotics in hers.

I have to add, I assume they were mother and daughter. One was old, one was young, and they were otherwise identical.

This cat sounds a lot like a teenager.

You know, you're right! Plus she loves to go out at night, and I've seen boys hanging around. At least she's not clamoring to get her driving permit.

I've got one like that. Woolly Bear. Sits on my porch and hisses at me. It's like having a raccoon in my yard.

She is beautiful and very serene looking..........My Cat Charlie is the offspring of a feral Mother. My daughter captured the little thing and brought it home to me. Fortunately I had Grandchildren for a week who picked him up and played with him constantly and he learned quickly that love was in the air...''
