I love the way children think.

" . . . and the princess was delighted," I read to Gillian when she was three. I paused.

"Do you know what delighted means?" I asked.

She nodded confidently. "It means dark."

Aw, thanks, you three. The "delightful" conversation popped into my head for some reason this afternoon.

It took me a few seconds, but it made sense! Loved it!

(I love the way children think too)

That's wonderful.

Funny. Is Gillian one of the blond princesses pictured?

Thanks, Dona and Bridgett. Helen, Gillian is the little one. My older daughter is Suzanne, who is now the mother of Lizzie, a college freshman. I'm a little older, too.....

It's a delightful story and picture, and I'm sure it's a delightful memory for you Susan.

Hello and bye? Hmmm . . . I'm going to guess this is Andzia, on her way to New Zealand (lucky girl).
