I planted Sweet Rocket (hesperis) 25 years ago, and it has planted itself every year since. It is classified as an invasive plant, and thus shunned by responsible gardeners. I love it.

Bright Fly (or whatever it's called)
I don't know their name, but they're no more than a quarter-inch long, and rather metallic looking. They land lightly on plants, and take off the same way. Awesome little body, yes? Love the colors!

Nice photo!
Thanks, Crystal. I found out it's Long-Legged Fly, a beneficial insect that eats aphids, among other nasties. I knew he was friendly!
Beautiful!
I love your photos. How gorgeous.
